The first Earthling to enter SPACE was actually a DOG named Laika from the USSR. She died a few hours after entering orbit from a malfunction in her space suit. She was picked from a dog pound in Russia and became Famous. Most people remember the names of humans but forget that a "DOG" was first to enter the Heavens and be with "GOD".
